Instructions for exhibition organizers

It's the flying computer circus!

You may remember the Commodore, Spectrum, and maybe the Amiga, but do you still remember the Atari and Amstrad? If you don’t, that’s ok!

I love 8-bit® is a captivating journey through the vibrant, nostalgic world of 8-bit digital art. This exhibition celebrates the golden era of video games, evoking the iconic pixelated graphics that defined a generation of gamers. Through a collection of art pieces inspired by the aesthetics of early video games from the 1980s and 1990s, the exhibition offers a glimpse into the visual language of classic gaming and its influence on contemporary culture.

The artworks featured in I love 8-bit® range from reimagined game characters to original pixel art creations, capturing the essence of a bygone era that continues to inspire new generations of artists, designers, and game enthusiasts.

Want to offer stunning experiences?

The I love 8-bit® is the answer.

Please read our export guide that is dedicated to international I love 8-bit® exhibition providers. For you, I love 8-bit® is a fantatic show! But for us, it means logistics.

I love 8-bit® is available for loaning both within Finland and internationally. We are committed to making the exhibition accessible to a wide audience, and we are happy to work with venues around the world to bring this visually striking show to new locations.

The exhibition is designed to be easy to install, yet the logistics of transporting the artwork and setting up the exhibition space require careful planning and coordination. While the artwork itself can be loaned without any additional charge, it’s important to note that logistical costs such as shipping, installation, and supervision are necessary components of the exhibition loans. These costs are based on several key factors.

Logistics and Transportation Costs

Shipping the artwork safely and securely to its destination is a significant part of the process. Whether the exhibition is moving across cities, countries, or continents, reliable transportation solutions must be arranged. These costs include packaging, insurance, and freight fees. Depending on the location of the venue, the distance, and the number of artworks being transported, these fees can vary.

Installation and Setup:

Setting up the exhibition in a new location involves more than just unpacking and hanging the artwork. Each piece requires careful positioning, proper lighting, and ensuring that the overall display looks cohesive. The setup process needs 2-3 builders and it can take anywhere from a 2-4 days depending on the venue and available infrastructure.

The Exhibition Supervision and Maintenance:

Once the exhibition is up, we recommend having a supervisor or a team member on-site during the duration of the exhibition to monitor the space and assist visitors. This includes overseeing the maintenance of the exhibition area, making sure that the displays remain in top condition, and addressing any technical issues that might arise.

Number of Personnel and Workdays:

The exhibition’s setup, maintenance, and teardown require personnel who specialize in art installation and exhibition management. These personnel costs are calculated based on hourly rates (77€/h +VAT /person) and the expected length of time spent on-site, which can range from a few days to a few weeks depending on the specifics of the event. Please see, the personel needs accommodation near the exhbition venue.

Cost basis for producing international exhibitions

The minimum number of people required for building an exhibition is two, who will be responsible for logistics and construction. The daily cost per person is 539€, plus accommodation and travel expenses.

Exhibition loans are always based on actual costs. There are no hidden costs. Before ordering an exhibition, we draw up a plan and calculate the production costs together.
