The VIC-20, introduced in 1980, became hugely popular thanks to its affordable price, but the real breakthrough came with the Commodore 64, released in 1982. It became the world\u2019s best-selling single computer model, and its extensive selection of games and software made it a favorite among an entire generation. In 1985, the Amiga 1000 hit the market, bringing advanced graphics and sound capabilities as well as multitasking to home computers. The Amiga series gained a strong foothold, particularly among gamers, graphic designers, and video production professionals.
